SAN BERNARDINO — There’s no place like California for summer league baseball and a few Coyotes have not only jumped on the chance to keep their skills sharp, but have garnered some recognition on their respective teams.

Both Chris LeFay and Aaron Brooks, of the Palm Spring Power, were named to the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game. LeFay, who hit .278 with four home runs for the Coyotes this year, was the starting catcher and also won the home run derby. Brooks, who was an All-CCAA selection, struck out one in two innings of work.

Mike Lange, who hit .267 with a pair of RBIs for CSUSB last season, went 2-for-4 with a 2-run home run and three RBIs in the first game of the National Baseball Congress World Series. Lange is playing for the San Diego Stars this summer and is one of five teams from the state competing in the NBCWS held in Wichita, Kan.
