CSUSB and California Baptist set their annual volleyball match

SAN BERNARDINO — The rivalry has been renewed. Two of the Inland Empires’ best have decided on a date as Cal State San Bernardino will host California Baptist Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. inside Coussoulis Arena.
Each of the two volleyball programs are perennially ranked in the top five in their respective association. The Coyotes nearly won the school’s first national title in 2008 while the Lancers were the only team in the NAIA to reach the semifinals from 2004-08 which included two national title runs in 2004 and 2005.
CSUSB owns the head-to-head rivalry, 14-,9 and has won three of the last four meetings. California Baptist added a little bit more to the rivalry last month when it was accepted into the NCAA Division II membership process.
