SAN BERNARDINO — Two Cal State San Bernardino assistant coaches are getting the opportunity they have been waiting for. Anthony Jones and Robert Tossetti, who have served as assistant coaches for the past two seasons, will now be taking on more responsibility with former Associate Head Coach Paul Trevor taking the helm of the men’s basketball team at San Francisco State.

Jones begins his third season on the CSUSB men’s basketball coaching staff in 2007-08 after being an assistant men’s coach and physical education instructor at Riverside Community College since 2005.
He has also served as a resource specialist teacher in the Moreno Valley Unified School District, assistant athletic director and head boys basketball coach at Vista del Lago High in Moreno Valley. He was the boys basketball coach at John W. North HS in Riverside from 1999-2002 and was named the 2004-05 Sunbelt League coach of the year.

He is a 1998 graduate of Arizona State, earning a bachelor’s degree in justice studies and a member of a Pacific-10 conference champion football team that played in the 1997 Rose Bowl and the 1998 Sun Bowl. He received his master’s degree from Azusa Pacific in 2006.

Tossetti joined the CSUSB men's basketball staff in 2008-09 after a season as boys basketball coach at Vista Del Lago High School in Moreno Valley. Before that, Tossetti was an assistant coach at Riverside Community College (2004-07). In 2003-04 he was an assistant coach at Cal State Dominguez Hills.

He has also worked at San Manuel Band of Mission Indians tribal headquarters in Highland as a public safety assistant. He received his bachelor's degree in physical education from Cal State Dominguez Hills in 2004 and earned an associate's degree from San Bernardino Valley College in 2001.

He is currently working toward a master's degree at Azusa Pacific.

Tossetti played collegiate basketball at Cal State Dominguez Hills (2001-03) and San Bernardino Valley College (2000-01) where he earned All-Foothill Conference first team honors.

Both coaches will focus heavily on recruiting and scouting and will also fill in roles in monitoring compliance needs.
