The Coyotes are in a tie for fourth at the CCAA Championships

Results Through Round Two

PASO ROBLES — Cal State San Bernardino sits 18 strokes back of Cal State Monterey Bay in a tie for fourth place after day one and the first two rounds of the 2010 CCAA Golf Championships. The Coyotes were in third place and just eight strokes back after the first round.

CSUSB shot a 288 in the opening round before closing the day with a 297. It sits in a tie with No. 4 Chico State at 585 while No. 22 CSU Monterey Bay leads the field with a 567 two-round total. The Otters fired a 280 in the first round and a 287 in the second. No. 10 Cal State Stanislaus is in second at 568 while No. 20 Sonoma State, the defending national champion, is in third at 575.

Gene Webster Jr. and Kenny Pigman are both in the top 10 for the Coyotes. Webster shot identical 70s in each round to finish four under par at 140 and is in a tie for third with UC San Diego's Raj Samra. Webster and Samra are just one shot back of Monterey Bay's John Jackson and Stanislaus' Jonathan Earl Cockerill who each shot a 68 in the first round and a 71 in the second for a 139 two-round total. Pigman is in seventh with a 142 after shooting a 72 in each round. Joe Alldis is tied for 24th after firing a 150 (72-78) while Thomas Chu is tied for 33rd at 155 (77-78). Kenny Anthony shot a 156 (75-81) to leave him in 35th.

The eight-team field will complete the CCAA Championship at the par-72 Hunter Ranch Golf Course Tuesday.
