Results (Through Round 2)
TURLOCK — For the second straight tournament Cal State San Bernardino's
Gene Webster Jr. leads the field through the first two rounds. The Coyotes sit in a tie with Chico State and Sonoma State for fourth place at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational after firing the second lowest second round total with a 288.
CSUSB finished the first round in seventh place with a 303 and have a 591 two-round total. The Coyotes trail tournament host Cal State Stanislaus that shot a 295 in the first round and a tournament low 287 in the second round for a combined score of 582. The Warriors sit just three strokes ahead of second place Grand Canyon, that shot a 585, and four shots in front of Cal State Monterey Bay, that shot a 586.
Webster set the pace with a 68 in the first round and a 67 in the second to fire a 135.
Joe Alldis is in a tie for 10h at 146 (77-69) while
Thomas Chu is five strokes back, shooting a 78 and 73, in a tie for 37th.
Kenny Pigman shot a 159 (80-79), leaving him in a tie for 69th and
Nick Kelley rounded out the field with a 168 (84-84).
Webster is three strokes ahead of his nearest competitor. Cal State Dominguez Hills' Cavin McCall shot two straight rounds of 69 to finish at 138 while his teammate Ryan Indovina fired back-to-back rounds of 70 to move into third at 140.
The final round will conclude tomorrow at the Turlock Country Club.
