LOS ANGELES — Janay Palicte won both her singles and doubles match, along with teammate
Christina Torres, in a 6-3 loss to Cal State L.A.
Palicte first joined with Torres in an 8-5 win over Lana Lamesic and Marine Prevost in No. 3 doubles. The sophomore then defeated Linda Majzlikova in straight sets 7-5, 6-5 at No. 2 singles.
Allison Brooks picked up the other win for the Coyotes (0-5) as she battled back from being down 1-0 after the first set. The sophomore dropped the first set 6-4 before winning the final two 6-2, 6-3.
Isabella Fraczek looked to be routing Jillian Sangria at No. 3 singles after winning the first set 6-0, but Sangria won the next two 6-0, 6-0.
The Golden Eagles won the rest in of the matches in straight sets.
Dora Kiss and Majzlikova swept
Brittany Choate and
Kara Jenkins, 8-0, at No. 1 doubles while Sangria and Adriana Espinosa beat Fraczek and Brooks, 8-5, at No. 2 doubles.
Kiss then downed Choate 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 singles while Lamesic knocked off Jenkins 6-2, 7-5 at No. 4. Espinosa also defeated Torres 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
