Women look to feast on home cooking

After Pomona loss, CSUSB hosts Cal State L.A., Dominguez Hills

Emily Vore has averaged 7.7 points and 4.4 rebounds a game in her last four games and played 37 minutes against Pomona.
    Cal State San Bernardino, coming off a disappointing and lackluster 63-46 loss at Cal Poly Pomona, will try to regain some momentum in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, hosting Cal State L.A. and Cal State Dominguez this Friday and Saturday in Coussoulis Arena. 
    The Coyotes, 7-5 overall and 3-4 in the CCAA, are 5-2 at home this season and 2-2 in the CCAA. Cal State L.A. comes in struggling with a 1-6 CCAA mark and a 3-9 season record. The Toros, the CCAA conference tournament champion in 2008-09, are 2-4 in CCAA and 4-8 overall after a 1-6 start to the season. 
    COYOTES VS. CAL STATE L.A. – The Coyotes lead the all-time series 21-15 and has won five of the last eight meetings. 
    COYOTES VS. CS DOM. HILLS -- The Toros lead the all-time series 21-19 but CSUSB has won seven of the last 12 matchups. 
    YOTES NOTES – CSUSB has not produced back to back wins since defeating Cal State East Bay and Alaska Fairbanks in December. It's been lose one, win one or vice versa ever since…..Tuesday's loss to Cal Poly Pomona was the first time the team had been held under 50 points this season…..T6-1 junior transfer Kendra Dalebout, of whom good things were expected, will not play this season due to a pre-season injury……Sophomore Emily Vore has responded to the need for some physicality in the post by averaging 7.7 points and 4.4 rebounds a game over the last four games……Kymberly Ooten's 20-point, 13-rebound performance against Sonoma State Saturday has improved her season stats to 12.5 ppg and a team-leading 6.1 rebounds per game. She is shooting 50 percent from the field……Ooten ranks 7th in the CCAA in scoring (13.1 ppg), 10th in rebounding at 6.4/game and third in field goal percentage (51.6)….Krystal Urzua has scored in double figures all 12 games and has ecliped 20 points five times….she has scored in double figures in 41 of her last 56 games over the last three seasons…..Urzua entered the week ranked No. 2 in CCAA in scoring (17.5 ppg), No. 2 in free throw percentage (80.6), No. 5 in steals (2.3/game), No. 1 in 3-point FG percentage (46.1) and 3-pointers made (3.2/game)……Lisa Takata is the CCAA leader in assist-turnover ratio (2.4 – 41 assists, 17 turnovers)…..Teamwise, CSUSB ranks No. 2 in the CCAA in 3-point FG percentage (33.3) and No. 1 in 3-point FG percentage defense (24.7) as well as No. 2 in assists per game (16.1) and turnover margin (plus 3.7).
